Connect with Others

In partnership with like-minded organizations, we develop and sponsor lectures, discussions, forums and debates. All of our events connect with one or more of our three core values. We believe, as Wilma did, that face-to-face communication is needed in this country more than ever.  Face-to-face connection is ideal, but for some events, Zoom has expanded our coverage while allowing quality discussions.
In partnership with like-minded organizations, we develop and sponsor lectures, discussions, forums and debates.
Examples of past or continuing events:
  • Annual celebration of Wilma Dykeman's birthday anniversary at Black Wall Street's 8 River Arts Place in Asheville, North Carolina
  • Annual series of My Story author talks and book discussions at West Asheville Public Library
  • Annual Thomas Wolfe Short Story Book Club via Zoom
  • Green Money: Nature Makes Good Business Sense (two-day forum via Zoom Webinar)
  • Series of three debates at Asheville High School, with community leaders as debaters and debate club students as judges
