Wilma Dykeman was born on May 20, 1920. Although she passed away in December of 2006, the Wilma Dykeman Legacy has celebrated Wilma's birthday anniversary for over a decade. In partnership initially with the City of Asheville, then with Black Wall Street, the Wilma Dykeman Legacy has used the occasion to pay tribute to this extraordinary woman's life, work, and values.
